Description
The new museum, located in the basement of the Complex of S. Francesco which houses the historical copy of the Biga of Monteleone di Spoleto, built about thirty years ago by the art school of the sculptor Giacomo Manzu (the original is on Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York), is the calling card of the village.
The museum is set up as an interactive and dynamic exhibit, with the Chariot, located at the entrance. You can also see the original Biga, from a hologram located in the second room, surrounded by panels that traces the history of the find. Found in 1902 at Colle del Capitano, the Chariot, clearly of greek-ionic mold, it dates at VI b.C.
